Customize detail pages for each category

I am wondering if it's possible to create a custom detail page that is unique to a category. I have categories A, B & C but category C has some unique items that need to be separated from the other product options like size and color. The standard templates are working for A & B but C needs some HTML modification.

So how do I get a specific "detail" template to load with a given category and not with all of the categories? Thanks, G.

I'm working on a horse saddle and tack site. They sell packages with saddles that include multiple items like bridles, stirrups, etc., (found elsewhere in the site). That would be easy. Add a simple product option to buy the "fittings package or not." My problem is that he then wants to give buyers the option to upgrade each item in the package and there are several different packages depending on the model of saddle.

The way I've done it isn't pretty and if someone could figure out a different way, I'd gladly change. I have added product options for each of the items in the package, marked the first one with an (included) and then added each of the upgrade options for that item and the price upgrades.

Doing it that way makes the Options area look a mess and confusing. I want to separate the "package upgrade options" from the standard Size, Color, etc., stuff so that the package upgrades make sense. I only have packages for the various Saddle categories, nothing else, so I need to modify a template that only is called for use in the Saddle categories.

Too long a message but it's a strange request. I may end up having the guys in Russia take wack at it with maybe a pop-up window for package upgrade options or something like that if I can't make this work. Thanks for the help, G.
