Just need CART no STORE

I'm a newbie and was wondering if one of you kind people can point me in the right direction.

I wanted to integrate X-cart so that it's seemless with our site (the look and feel). That is I just want the shopping cart and not the whole store part of x-cart.

That is to say, when a customer clicks on Buy now it adds it to the shopping cart and then it should ask if they want to continue shopping that it returns them to our site until they want to check out.

Any help appreciated.

why would you want them to do that ?

Because I really don't need everything but the cart?

I just want it so that the cart takes the orders and checks out.

You can give xcart the same look and feel of your site.

Can I get rid of bestsellers, news, categoriees?

Is this a lot to ask? I'm not sure? I thought it was possible?

Yes. You can turn off a lot of those modules in the admin section, or, if you're like me, you edit them out the template files once you're 100% you won't use them.

Check out my site: http://shop.viosport.com/ to see how mine looks. To see the store, click "products" on the top nav bar. Is that kinda like what you're wanting? That's X-Cart 3.3.5 in there, just severely revamped.
Hope this helps!

The big picture behind xcart is that you can change it around to do pretty much whatever you want.

You do need to have a dig around the forums though if you want suss out how to do this

Is there any documentation for X-cart?

jakecart 06-17-2003 01:03 PM

By the way kpayne that's exactly what I want to do.

should be a manual in your file area.

you can stop things appearing by putting comment tags around the include statements.

{* this is wont appear *}

home.tpl is the file that calls most of the other template files
