HELP! - head.tpl won't change
 

Hi - I'm a newbie to X-Cart, but have plenty of experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, etc. Smarty Templates are pretty new to me right now though, but seems like it'll be easy to learn. Anyway, that in mind, I must be missing something simple here.

I just installed X-cart and began to make my initial modifications to the layout, specifically starting with head.tpl for the customer section. All the code looked fine, and previewed just fine too. However, it didn't actually change when I went to look at the customer home page. I even tried to create a different file named newhead.tpl and changed the reference in home.tpl to reflect this as well. Still no luck. Any ideas what's happening?

try clearing the cache (templates_c dir)

you can do this by runing the cleanup.php file

Hrm... that still didn't do anything. Very wierd.

Okay, actually solved this problem by manually deleting all the extraneous files in template_c directory. cleanup.php didn't seem to want to do the job.

i think this is actually a smarty bug, but yes deleting the templates_c directory will solve it. May need to softboot the server in some circumstances depending on you server settings. (not likely)
