X-Cart 4.1.8 and upgrade kits for upgrading X-Cart 4.1.0-4.1.7 to 4.1.8 are now available for download from X-Cart File area of the Help Desk.
To obtain an upgrade kit, log in to your Help Desk account, go to the section 'My Licenses', find the license of the X-Cart store that you wish to upgrade and click on the link 'Get upgrade pack'. Attached to this letter is a changelog for X-Cart 4.1.8. Thank you |

A few things you should add are ...
a check to see if mcrypt is installed so that the encrption / decryption process does not take forever and cause people problems. This should be checked during the upgrade process from 4.0.x - 4.1.x too as I had an upgrade that just would not work without it or the blowfish part switched off. a not to say that you need to set the correct permissions on some files when settiing HSBC payment gateway. certain files need to be set to 777 in order for it to work. make sure that the upgrade patches fully update the database structure .... I noticed the counters table was not added and various other tables did not get deleted . I checked this by exporting the structure of a fresh install and the structure of my upgraded database. there were quite a few differences. Ill mail you the files if you like to look at. The lack of the counters table caused anonymous checkout to break. It would also be good to be able to clean up any problems found in the database when the Check database integrity tool is ran from the summary area of the admin. I understand this would be dangerous in the wrong hands but useful in the right ones. |

also please post the changelog so we can read it rather then download it. I was going to do it myself but theres a limit on the amount you can post these days

just ran this upgrade and noticed a few problems.
Heres a list of files that are set to be upgraded but the diff files do not exist in the package .. skin1/customer/categories.tpl skin1/head.tpl skin1/head_admin.tpl skin1/location.tpl - this one is hardly worth changing skin1/printable.tpl skin1/skin1.css |
