I have looked at all that, but when I use webmaster mode the area I am after doesn't highlight for me to figure out where to put it. I just want to be able to add text, whether the person is logged in or not, to the front page above where the featured products show up and below where it says "welcome, ..."

Where do I put that in?

Moving this to its own thread, as the guide really isn't the place for questions.

Why not just add a new paragraph to the welcome text?
