This may really sound stupid, but HOW do you upload images to that specific directory?? When I use the logo upload button, it does not say where it is going, and I do not know what url to put in the box.

Hi Arlene, welcome to X-Cart! If you could start by updating your signature with your EXACT X-Cart version (i.e. 4.1.7) that would be great.

I'm moving your post to its own thread, as the guide really isn't the place for questions. To upload images to your server, the best method is via FTP. You can either use your browser or an FTP client (recommended).

Arlene,

Welcome to X-Cart!

Before you get too deep, please update your signature with the EXACT version of x-cart. "4.1" can mean one of 10 versions... do you have 4.1.6? 4.1.7? 4.1.3? etc...

Next, I moved your reply to the template editing thread to its own, since you are asking a question (I think) that is unrelated to template editing. I don't understand your question... what exactly are you trying to do here?

I am guessing that you need to acquire some skills and tools in order to get your xcart store running... do you have an FTP client? Shell access? Text editing tools? Knowledge of CSS? XHTML basics?

Let's start from the top -- and when you ask questions, please try to be very specific:

"I am trying to do THIS..." -- what page or function of the admin are you on? Etc...

There are many very experienced users here that enjoy helping others... you will have a great experience and learn quite a bit if you learn how to ask your questions.

Good luck.

Jeremy

Padraic -- I intercepted this as we were doing this at the same time... I merged both threads into one. :-)
