changing intro text
 

I tried to follow the instructions at http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=27066 regarding changing the intro text but it seems different for my version 4.1.7

"Go to your admin panel. Right menu: administration. In that menu you see: languages.
Select English. At the topic section change labels to text:
And search for the following label:
txt_welcome "

When I go the this area there is no "search" tool to enter that text in.

it just shows 4415 language variables with many pages of data to search through... how do I search for the the txt_welcome ??

thanks in advance for any help I usually able to figure this sort of stuff out but this seems more difficult then it ever should be.

Apply filter doesn't do a thing.

it just refreshes the screen.

Am I the only one who can't figure this out? this is very disturbing I run a few forums and many shopping carts.

This is by far the most complicated system I have used and the manuals are pretty useless as far as I am concerned.

I still cannot change the front intro text , or ANY text for that matter.

And I cannot even setup a basic shipping option.

Right below 'Note: To enter the values of language variables in the correct charset please select the desired language from the dropdown box at the top of this page.', there are two drop down lists:
'Select topic' and 'Apply filter'
In the 'Select topic', select 'Text', and in the 'Apply filter' type: txt_welcome

It will show you in a window below the 'txt_welcome' text that you can then edit.
