Static Page

I spent five minutes reading other peoples efforts and the replys of experienced users. But nothing helped me.

I am trying to create a static page in the root level but i get

Cannot save file: please check the write permissions.

It is saving it as a html and i also tryed php

I have ensured the directory skins\pages\us\ has 777 permissions.

The other static pages work fine in the Help section, but i was curious as to where the root level sticks it, when i tried i got this error.

Also is it possible to use the fancy categories dynamic menu when u create static pages. I am basically putting some information pages together and having it under help isnt all that proffesional, a new category would be good. And also with the ability to add sub pages in the same manner as the categories does.

Re: Static Page

Well, if it is a root level page it puts it in the root, so you need to make your root directory writable :)

I sort of figured it should go there, wouldnt that make the site a little un secure if the root directory was writeable. What write permissions should i set.

Thanks for the reply

Re: Static Page

Just change it, create your page and change it back. 666 or 766 should do it

This is also exactly what I want to do. Has anyone figured this out yet?
