Can anyone tell me how to go about adding a photo image/skin to my head/title area ...it looks so boring plain...

Sure, just add an image :) Upload it to the skin1/images directory and call it like this:

<img src="{$ImagesDir}/imagename.jpg" alt="">

Hello Balinor, Thanks for the info....I am now debating whether it would be better to buy a template instead...can you tell me what the difference between a template and a skin is ?
I took your previous advice and hired somone to take care of the security issues and I have also purchased the Xspecial add-on, though I had to pay X-cart to do a fair bit of customizing when they install it to have it meet my specific free shipping needs. I think I will also buy the live currency Ruby Mod...do you have an opinion of this mod, does it function well ? I use PayPal ( I know not the best but it serves my purpose right now) and it is supposed to let people pay in their currency of choice which I think would add a much greater comfort level and hopefully produce more sales....I value your opinions and Thank You for all your input :-)

Hi Michelle...a template and a skin are the same thing, just different terminology. I'm not a big fan of templates, but they are certainly better than the default X-Cart layout.

Afraid I am not familiar with the Ruby Currency mod, but I've read some good things about it here in the forum!
