save checkout?
 

hi...

is there a mod that allows people to save their checkout items for a later period, similiar to 'add to wishlist' but one that saves the entire cart in one go?

X-cart should do this for anyone logged in by default. To do it for customers that do not log in you'd need a mod like this one:

X-cart by itself doesn't remember information for customers that do not log in.

I own the "remember anonymous" mod and I conisder it a must-have for my customers... my customers FREQUENTLY add items to their cart, get distracted, leave, come back later -- and then checkout. I can say this happens every day for one or more transactions. It's an inexpensive mod if your customers are "browsers". For some types of products, it's invaluable.
