check to make sure you dont have any blank spaces at the end of your config.php and also make sure that you have the correct pemissions set for the templates_c folder and the xcart folder.

Check the forum faq for a post on correct permissions

I have a similar problem, moved my xcart site to a new server and everything worked fine until I edited some templates:
I'm getting this message on my site:
Warning: Smarty error: problem writing '../templates_c/N13/N1366895660/0.php.' in /home/michel/public_html/store/Smarty-2.1.1/Smarty.class.php on line 546

It's not saving the changes I made to the templates either
Any suggestions ?

I managed to fix it : I just had to delete the templates_c folder

i would completly delete the templates_c folder and then recreate it and set it to chmod 777.

it may be because you copied the templates folder over during the move
