Embed a gallery into Welcome.tpl?
 

I'm trying to figure out the best way to embed a gallery into welcome.tpl so that it displays on the home page below the welcome statement.

I am not sold on using either technology, but depending on which would be more simple I can do either a Flash or a Javascript based gallery to suit. My problem is that when i try creating my own page and embedding, or using a static page and trying to include that... the paths don't seem to work right. Anyone tried this before or have any recommendations? Any help at all would be most appreciated.

Using X-cart v.4.1.2 but shortly upgrading to 4.1.6. Thanks in advance....

I have a similar problem with just a movie, I can't get it to play

rename your page to the tpl extension and in the bottom of welcome.tpl add {include file='yourpagename.tpl'}

and in yourpagename.tpl where ever you use the braces {} for javascript or what not that doesnt have to do with smarty, wrap it around literal tags {literal}{/literal}

as for the path issue, keep in mind that it starts at the skin1 directory
