Showing prices in either dollars or pounds

Hi,

Our site has always been priced in UK pound sterling but a sizeable part of our market is the USA. Therefore we would like to display prices in US dollars but don't want to neglect our UK base.

Ruby Mod's GeoIP / Currency mod seemed like the perfect solution. We got it installed. This shows products in US dollars to visitors from the US. However, there is a problem with this. It shows them the price after converting it from the pound sterling rate. This means:

* The dollar price changes daily
* It is not very attractive (i.e. $22.72 would look better as $22.99)
* It doesn't always match up with WorldPay's (our payment provider) rate - which means customers could get charged more than they think.

I have enquired about getting prices rounded up, but this doesn't seem possible. So I was wondering whether it▓s possible to have two separate and fixed prices √ US dollars and UK pounds. It would work like this:

* I would set the prices manually in the admin area. (e.g. $24.99 and ё11.99)
* The Geo IP would check where the visitor is from (as it does now)
* If the visitor is from the UK - prices are shown in pound sterling
* If the visitor is from outside the UK then prices would show the dollar rate.
* I would keep an eye on the exchange rates and manually change prices when needed.

Of course the downside with this solution is that one price will always be cheaper than the other unless corrected manually each day. But I think the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

What I would like to know is whether this idea is actually possible? I've done lots of searching on this forum but couldn't find anything similar. I've emailed Ruby Mods, but haven't had a response thus far. Has anyone here tried a similar thing? Was it successful?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
