New Text box on Checkout Page
Hi,
I am designing a shopping cart for a flower shop. I need to have a text box displayed for customers to enter what they would like written as the flower message for the recipient. I tried adding a field to the product but it doesn't display. I followed the instructions in the manual about visiting the product in the backend and assigning it a value before it will display on the products page. I cleared my cache and still nothing appeared. BTW, my client deals with alot of Corporate floral arrangements, so not alot of products would need the text box anyway. Adding a field to me isn't adding a text box, so I don't think I needed to do the above but was interested to see what would happen. If my thinking is wrong, please let me know. I noticed on the submit order page, there is a text box for customer notes. Would you recommend I copy that bit of code and change the wording for my purposes or how should I go about this? Thanks, Kylie |
Re: New Text box on Checkout Page
Does anyone have any advice about the about matter?

Re: New Text box on Checkout Page
The checkout already has a text box called 'Customer notes:' on it ... perhaps change the Customer notes text to 'Message for recipient'.

What I needed to do was go back to each individual product, make some change, and/or just click the Save button. Then when I viewed the product on the X-Cart storefront, the product displayed the Extra Field I had added. It seems you need to do this for every existing product that you want the Extra Field to appear. New products added should have no problem displaying the Extra Field from the "get-go" if checked as visible. Hope that helps! Robert |
