My product details page wont display - Page Not Found???
 

I am trying to use variants with Download Expander.

I have activated the Products Options and started setting up a product. I have ticked option to redirect to product details page when Buy Now button is pressed.

HOWEVER, when the buy now button is pressed on those products with variants I do not get the product details page. I just get Page Not Found. Have I missed something obvious here. I may have removed something from a .tpl but I have look high and low and cannot figure it out.

Please help me. I'd love to sort this one out ASAP. I'm quite sure it is a simple but I just can't think where the issue lies in the tpl.

For your information I am using a customised products.tpl called products_cd.tpl for just one category and a if statement in products.tpl to control product display. Your help would be gratefully recieved

I would try reversing that mod first to see if that is the problem.

I have just reversed the mod by uploading the original X-Cart products.tpl and it is still not displaying the details page. I just get Page Not Found.

I may have failed to mention that currently I do not display the product details for any product in my site. In the early days when modding my cart I decided I wanted to just add to cart from the products list.

Example of current customer routine:
1.click category in menu,
2.products list in main area,
3.customer clicks add to cart next on product list,
4.minicart updates.

Now I need to use variants and therefore I need the product details page back

Maybe someone could tell me the .tpl I should look at and the code I may have removed/commented out by accident.

I don't think it is Download Expander. Download expander seems to working fine. I did a test order and all download links appears to work etc. I can add to cart fine. All my products without variants continue to display/work fine and just add to cart aas normal.

Anymore ideas balinor?

I am desperate to fix this.

Make sure you didn't actually delete customer/main/product.tpl, or the call to product.tpl in customer/home_main.tpl.

Thanks Balinor but looked at that ealier and they both exist. Anywhere else I could look. I'm no expert but I got a pretty good grasp of X-Cart, I've just seem to be lost this time.

This is driving me nuts. Please help!!!! Balinor? Anyone?

Ok, how about this...try adding a product with no variants and see if that one allows you to view it...could be an issue with that function.

I've unticked the availability of the option group and added a "normal" esd but that just gets me back to the item adding to cart and not going to the details.

How is the product details page called and how does it work when product options are involved? Maybe someone could explain or post correct php or tpl examples so I can compare.

Could this be a bug in Download Expander as you do have to modify the Product Options module to work with their mod. HOWEVER, I are more sure it is something quite small and annoying than this!!!

I mean just add a simple product and click on it's title or picture, not the buy now button. The buy now button will always skip the product detail page if the product doesn't have options.

Thanks again but I tried that 4 hours ago. I replaced product.tpl with the original x-cart version so that my custom mod for the products.tpl was not involved and clicked the see details link and none of my products (which as it happens do not have variants) went to the details.

I thinks I am missing or have screwed the code that displays product details or the download expander has?

Anything else, Balinor? I really appreciate all your efforts so far.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas. It sounds like someone adjusted the code that controls the detailed page display...without looking at it it is difficult to diagnose :( Perhaps a ticket with X-Cart would be an option?
