A very dumb mistake, a request for help
 

Hi all,

So I was editing the templates, and I'm pretty new to XCart and trying to get things to look right. In an attempt to change something else, I deleted the line in dialog.tpl that displays the $content.

Not only is the front end not displaying anything, but the backend apparently uses dialog.tpl and now I can't use the built-in editor to change it back or restore the old version.

Any suggestions on how to do this manually, or where the orginal dialog.tpl can be located?

ftp into you cart & copy dialog.tpl from skin1_original into your skin directory

Hey Jonathan, don't worry, we all did stupid stuff like that when first starting out :) As neorag says, there is always a backup copy of the original templates in your skin1_original folder. However, when you get far along and have your site customized, you'll really want to make backups of templates before you edit them, as if you screw something up you'll lose all of your previous edits.

If you can also take a moment to add your X-Cart version to your signature per the forum guidelines that would be great. Thanks!
