text rollover to display categories help

I have this bar for navigation on my site

|Home|Help|Contact Us|Gallery|Shop|Gift Certificates|Returns|FAQ|

There is a black bar above and below. I have installed horizontal menu categories with the subcat's which come up on rollover. Which is underneath the nav bar.
what i want to do is have the categories menu bar come up only when 'Shop' is hovered over or clicked on.
I have googled and found nothing on how i could go about this.
Can this be done? Is there some sort of rollover trickery that i could use to do this?

Re: text rollover to display categories help

Just make the whole navigation bar part of the DHTML menu. Have a look at DynamicDrive.com or get Phil's excellent CSS menus here:

Re: text rollover to display categories help

I see what your saying ie. continue same theme in .tpl adding the static links after the horizontal flyout. but is there any way i can have the categories come up only when 'shop' is hovered over? I only need the first categories to come up not really needing subcat's

shop (hovered over)
| jdfsjhdf | sljdfsh | ajhdf | sajhdfj | (hidden categories come up)

,chris

PS thanks for prompt reply

Re: text rollover to display categories help

That's exatly what I mean. You can use either Phil's horizontal category flyout, or you can use DynamicDrive's flyout menu that shows up when you click on or hover on a link. That one won't be automatic, but Phil's will. For his you'll need to create a 'Shop' root category.

Re: text rollover to display categories help

That's what I mean...you need to add the other links into the flyout template, you can't just call the flyout template in the middle of other links.
