Cannot Change Category
I am having a bit of a problem changing the category name of my store. I try to update the product category it says it is updated and does make any changes.
When I make a new category it just makes a blank one. Do I need to do something in my File manager to allow access. It worked previously but not sure why not now. Any help woulod be appreciated. Thanks in advance |

Also I cannot change settings in my Skin1 folder in my File Manage.

Are you editing the categories via the 'Categories' link? And what do you mean by changing settings in skin1?

Well when I edit the categories in the admin area, also when I try to edit the folder in the file manager it will not let me.
I am not editing them in the language area just in the admin under catergories towards the top left admin box. And on the filemanager in my cpanel It seems that it is locked, could it be my .htaccess file, I allowed my server settings chmod in thecatalog folder and public_html |

So the category names aren't changing? Are you hitting the 'save' button after you edit them?
As far as editing files in Cpanel..NEVER do that as it can corrupt files. IF you are editing templates, edit them via the 'Edit Templates' link in admin, or via FTP. |

Yes when I hit save it saves t was successful but none of the text changes, it stays the same.
I also cannot change my CHMOD in my file server to change access settings Weird... |

May be obvious but wanted to point it out, make sure you aren't changing the names and then viewing the site as an html catalog page (you'd have to regenerate the html catalog for the changes to appear).

Unfortunately that does not work, I regenerated catalog, but still no changes on Catgeory

I am totally lost, I am not sure why I cannot update or change my categories.
When I update a new category, it makes the category but the name is black, including the description. Is there an a CHMOD I can do to allow that field to be updated. |

Markus I think perhaps it will be beneficial for you to open a ticket with X-Cart via your help desk. They can review your site and diagnose any issues.
