X-Cart Stickies??
 

I come from a vBulletin background and pretty much tear the code apart but I am still learning the wonderful world of X-Cart. In vBulletin there is an option that allows you to take a thread in a forum and make it a sticky (this is an admin or mod option) and the thread will stay at the top of the threadlist in the forum.

I would like to have that option in X-Cart is it possible?

So everytime lets say you go in to art prints you can one or a few products in that category that are listed first and on the first page only and not repeat on cont... pages in X-Cart.

I am guessing by changing the name of the product in the system this could be achieved. But an option in product description with a "show product first" check box.

I hope this makes sense and either its really easy or will take lots of scripting.

Is this scenario possible?

I am far from being an Xcart expert here..

If I wanted to do somthing like that, with minimal effort, I would look into using the
built in Best Sellers module on Xcart to display those products. Perhaps a small modification it the Products Template would help to display those best sellers for that category constantly those products in that paticular category.

Hope this may give you a start.

Thanks foe the reply. I don't think the bestsellers module would cut it on this one as I want the thumbnails to be controlled for catagories.

Hey Michael...you can change the order products are displayed in a category so you can make certain products show first. Just click on 'Categories', and then click on the number of products next to the category. Use the POS box to order the products however you want.

As an alternative, you can also use the 'Featured Products' option.
