Displaying custom fields
 

Is it possible to call on individual custom fields for a product? In the short product descriptions (on category pages), I want to be able to have the author and date of the product be shown in certain areas, similar to how there's a code to display the price. I'm hoping there's an easy way to tell the site to display one custom field here, and another there.

If it's not possible with the custom fields, is there any other way to do this?

oops, I actually ment to write extra fields instead of custom fields. I read the whole section on extra fields in the owners manual, but couldn't find anything specific about what I was looking for.

Is there a way to call for an individual extra field in the template file? I want to have certain ones shown on one area of the product page, and others in another spot. By default they're all grouped together.

And if I can't do this with extra fields, is there another way?
