implenting categories as drop down menu
I want to implement the categories menu as a drop down menu. I've seen there is a category_selector.tpl file but I don't know how to implement it. I tried just calling it and I get an empty drop down menu. Any advice on how to use this template file or how to modify the category.tpl file would be greatly appreicated. I'm using xcart v4.1.2 Thanks.

How many categories do you have and how often do they change?

about 10 categories and they won't change very often.

Lots of nice mods for this in the Custom Mods forum

Easier still and no DB calls. Just make a static HTML of a dropdown with the links in it, then included them where the category menu would have been called. I also did this for the manufacturers list as I only have 30 of them. Off the top of my head I can't remember the locations, but I can dig them out for you if you want.
