error page

Hi, since I am getting an error trying to process my dummy cc, I notice on the error page that the 'authentication' box is there (you know, to sign up). I took it off the rest of the site, and need it off here, too. How do I edit this page?

[skin1]/main/error_*.tpl

Thanks Boomer. I can't edit my templates because my permission is denied. The xcart guys say this:

This problem occurs because the files permissions of the "<xcart-dir>/skin1" directory are not adjusted correctly. To fix this problem you should grant full permissions (read and write) to this directory.

Do you know how I do this? I know you told me about the chmod, but I tried that with cuteftp and I get this error:
[xcart]
COMMAND:> SITE CHMOD 666 xcart
500 'SITE CHMOD 666 xcart': command not understood

I don't know what to do now? I'm so frustrated, 'cause I gave the xcart guys my info to change it for me 3 days ago, and they haven't done it. Now I have to wait till next week, 'cause it's their weekend. Can you tell me how to do what they say?

Thanks!

Terri

Your host should be able to do this for you easily... Just ask them to set the skin1/* directory to a chmod of 777 like so:

Quote:

chmod -R 777 skin1/*

Pass that command along to your host and they should be able to do it quick without much hassle. And you will be able to edit templates within the x-cart admin.

hth. ;)

One more thing, Boomer. When I went into the chmod in cuteftp, it said: manual: 777 so is it already 777? I thought I had to have it 666? I think it was Shan who said I needed it to be 666. Which one should I tell my host to do?

Thanks!!!

Either one should work, 666 may be a bit more secure, but setting them to 777 may work if your still not able to save the templates.

Thanks, I'll tell them that! You're great!!!
