Business or Residential???
 

I would like to have a check box near the shipping and billing address that allows the customer to specify whether the address is a business or a house. Since shipping to a business address is cheaper, this info would be nice to know.....

How can I do this?

Just go to General Settings/User Profile options. It allows you to add different types of user input fields per section.

However... The info will not be carried into the UPS shipping calculations without doing some support coding.

By default I believe that UPS calculates residential rates.

There is a setting in the UPS configuration options as to whether the address is residential or business.

I am not using real time. We use flat rate based off of total price.
