Add extra field in Customer details for Gift Card text
 

Does anyone know if it is possible to add an extra field in the customer details so that if someone buys a product and wishes to send it to a mailing address as a suprise gift that they can specifiy what to write in the gift card that we will supplu?

I realise that there is a comments field towards the end of the purchase process, but i would prefer it to be up at the start of the process. Is there a custom gift card mod available?

Just use product options and use the text box option.

Thanks Balinor. However that would mean I have to add it to each of the items in my store. I would prefer to have one central place to enter the text. Currently I have converted the text box on the credit card info page (where the customer enters their details) to be the place for this text. The only problem with this is the fact that the text does not appear in the invoice to the shop owners. To view this text you need to log in and view customer orders - Order details (not visible to customer and provider).

Is there a way to edit the order_invoice.tpl to show this field

I have a different end result in mind, but i like this concept. How do we keep it from showing on the customer frontend? Especially when there are other options besides this one?
