Sort manufacturers products by category
 

hey everyone

is there a way i can get the manufacturers products sorted by category?

like when you go the the manufactures page it shows all the products for the certian manufacturer. like this:

http://www.shootcheap.com/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=83

what i would like to do is then break it up by category. like this maybe:

http://www.shootcheap.com/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=83&cat=121

i cant seem to find the place to modify to make that happen. whatever i modify it keep giving me the same results. i am assuming that it is someplace on the manufacturers.php page.

any help would be great.

No replies as of yet.. I was browsing for a mod like this too. I can probably write some code to do this. I was thinking it should be formatted similar to the categories page with manufacturer info first, categories next and default would be all products for the manufacturer below. If a category is selected, either go to categories page and display only that manufacturer in the selected category or stay on the manufacturers page and show only that category for that particular manufacturer.

I am currently adding new products for my client but will probably see if I can make the mod afterwards. If no one else has made this kind of mod, I could use some input on what seems best.

I noticed 6 hits in my referr table so i thought i would come back and let you know that it now filters from the 'cat' parameter.

Also, I modified my skin to work with frames.

I like that blade-tech site, does that use X-Configurator?

What did you have to do to get your categories on the left displaying in a frame?

I always thought that frames and SEO rankings were something to steer away from but has it had an effect on site visitors?
