Changing welcome message
 

I have XCart Gold v. 4.0.17.

How in the world do I alter the message on the front page of the store? It's set to the default now ("This is a demo store powered by the X-Cart and based on PHP4 template technology and integrated with a SQL database. It is a fully functional store...").

There HAS to be a way to alter this from within the administrator's area. But I've been looking for it for an hour and can't find it. Perhaps it's incredibly obvious, but I'm not finding it.

Hi again Trevor. In addition to putting your version in your signature (edit profile, enter version, enter help desk password, save), you should also be sure to search the forum thoroughly before posting, as many of the most common questions (like this one) have been answered a bunch of times.

The best way to edit text in your site is to use Webmaster Mode. You can read more about it in the manual:

http://www.x-cart.com/manuals.html

When in webmaster mode, you can edit text on the fly (such as the welcome text).

I know this is old, but since I had problems finding the actual language file when I accidentally deleted all the content and couldn't edit it in webmaster mode and could find no mention of the location of the file in the forum search..

The content of the welcome message (home page content) is in txt_welcome in table xcart_languages, and can be edited (or rescued if deleted like me) there
