I want to change the look and feel of the store using a custom design. Is there any easy way or a tool to do that?

Are there any tools? errr notepad, dreamweaver, ultraedit

I think you would be best to read the manual first.

also try reading similar posts / threads to what you are trying to do, more than likely you'll find an answer.

dreamwevaer is very easy editer to use with x-cart, but be careful of dreamweaver adding in unessercery code.
