Two Product Category Boxes

I am trying to find a way to get two product category boxes. I have searched for this topic and haven't found anything. I basically want to display 8 categories in a different box then the default. You can view the home page http://www.starvingpilotshop.com to see how I would like it with xcart.

Can anybody provide me with coding to make this possible?

Just standard html:

Category 1

Category 2

Category 3

etc, etc.

How do I remove those categories from the default box?

Anybody have an update on how I can remove one category from the main category box?

I created the two boxes. The first box displays the subcategories of the category I need to remove from the default box.
