Changing ordering of fields
 

I created a field on the customer information page called Middle Initial - how can I change the order in which the field is displayed? It insists on displaying after Last Name, when I want it to be the 2nd field displayed so its in between First and Last name.

Any ideas?

By default, all new fields display at the bottom. You will need to edit the individual template to change this:

main/register_shipping_address.tpl
main/register_billing_address.tpl

Ok - is there a way to move certain fields and create new steps? For example, to reduce the length of the initial register page, can we take certain fields and place them on a different page? Can we create more steps ?

You can do anything you want as it is open source code, it just will take a lot of extra work to re-arrange the checkout steps.
