Invoice template help

I want to edit my invoice templates but there are so many that I'm getting confused! Can someone please help me distinguish the differences:

I figured out that skin1/mail/html contains invoice templates that are supposed to go out to customers' emails -- am I right on that? So... do I need to enable "HTML mail" in General Settings/Email Options in order for these emails to display properly? If I checkmark "HTML mail" does that mean all emails (aside from just invoices) will be HTML-based?

I see there are also invoice templates in skin1/mail. Are these just plain-text templates? So if I decide on just one format for all my emails, I only need to edit either the HTML or plain-text templates?

Is there any option in X-Cart that automatically determines whether a customer accepts HTML or plain-text emails and will send the appropriately formatted invoice? Or do you have to pick one or the other?

In skin1/main there is a file called order_invoice_print.tpl. Is this a template on the admin end that lets you print invoices to send out with packages, or is this for the "Print Invoice" link that customers see after placing an order? Or both?

Are there are any other invoice templates that I'm missing?

Thanks for your help!

The customer will see mail/html/order_invoice.tpl. Just edit that one and you are all set.

Thanks for the reply! If I only need to edit mail/html/order_invoice.tpl, then what are the other invoice templates for?

Some are for the admin back-end, some are pieces of the main invoice template.
