Inserting HTML on Home page
 

I have a client that came to me with a webpage that was 3/4 of the way complete and the person who did it used x-cart i have since taken over the site and am learning how x-cart works.
They sell stuffed animals
They want to give a few animals a week to sick children in the hospital
i would like to create a link from the main page to another page with the info and a form that they can fill out to submit a sick childs name i know HTML but am not sure how to go about it.
and where to insert the html any ideas?
should i create a static page then how do i get the link on my main page?

Just edit customer/main/welcome.tpl.

I created a static page but its showing up under the help section how would i take it out of there and just put a link to it in my customer/search.tpl?
