Disable rt mouse click script
Hello,
I am trying to add a rt mouse disable script to hender some copying of my sites content. This is what I found at Dynamic drive but when I attempted to add it to the <body> aread of my skin1/customers/home.tpl, there was smarty errors. Can someone please tell me where this will work? Here is the link. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright.htm Here is the script: <script language=JavaScript> <!-- //Disable right mouse click Script //By Maximus (maximus@nsimail.com) w/ mods by DynamicDrive //For full source code, visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com var message="Function Disabled!"; /////////////////////////////////// function clickIE4(){ if (event.button==2){ alert(message); return false; } } function clickNS4(e){ if (document.layers||document.getElementById&&!docume nt.all){ if (e.which==2||e.which==3){ alert(message); return false; } } } if (document.layers){ document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); document.onmousedown=clickNS4; } else if (document.all&&!document.getElementById){ document.onmousedown=clickIE4; } document.oncontextmenu=new Function("alert(message);return false") // --> </script> thanks in advance! :D |
Need to put literal tags around the script. Like this:
{literal}script goes here{/literal} |
Hey Balinor,
That worked, now I need to see about placing that somewhere in Boomers great popup window mod. I have tried the "popup_images.tpl" but no go; any ideas? Thanks again you are on the ball. :D |
i hate it when sites do that

I do too and most of the time...if the user is smart enough....you can look at the source for the page and get the image anyway.
So, it only keeps :? out. My 2 cents, Louise |
as stated above in my request " mouse disable script to hender some copying of my sites content" there are always some way around anything in this world. [/u]
Thanks! :D |
An easier way is to just open the page with your browser and go to "File > Save As" and you can save the source(including the right-click disable code) and ALL images that way. :)
|
The web developer toolbar in Firefox has a nice little View Source button that will override any attempts to protect the code, so not even worth it. If someone wants to view/steal your code or images....nothing short of password protecting your entire site will help.
