Saving as a new skin?
 

Greetings:

I am new to X-Cart and before I start customizing I thought it might be a good idea to save skin1 to a new name as a fall back.

Is this a good approach and if so how is this handled or other suggestions appreciated.

That is what the skin1_original folder is for....if you make mistakes that you cannot figure out, you can always restore the original from that folder through admin.

When editing a template there is a restore button at the bottom of the page. Take a look.
