[4.0.12] How to set a product with zero price?
 

Hi,

I'm using x-cart 4.0.12. Before I used 3.5.
The problem is. I have some products in my shop that I want to sell for 0 euro / dollar. But the problem is, the shopping system says: enter your price. When I go to the product details it says the price is 0 euro. That is ok. But when I add the product to the card and want to buy it, it says: you have to exceed the minimum valeu to continue.
How can I make the price of enter your price to 0.00. And How can I sell this product for 0 euro.

In x-cart 3.5 I solved the problem by editing product.tpl and products.tpl. But in the 4.0.12 version this trick isn't working.

Have searched everywhere. Found a lot of topics, but none of them are working for me. I hope someone could help me out.

This one tripped me up as well.

Go into the General Settings page (General Options) and look for a line that says "Minimum allowed order total:" and set it to zero.

Now, the cart will allow the purchase of a zero priced item. But it will also set the order status as "Queued" rather than processed as most of us would hope.

It would be nice if the X-Cart developers would give us a setting that determines what status to give a zero priced order.

As far as the "Enter Your Price" thing, I explain it to my customers that this is to give them the option of donating an amount for the free items, and that they are not required to enter anything into that box, or that they may enter a zero into it if they prefer.

I have had some customers enter a donation amount for some of my free items, so it's a good option to have.
