Template problems
I am having problems with my store, one question I asked before but noone answered and the other is new!
When I go from home.php to a categories that has subcategories, the main page are shrinks - where is the code that controls this - I cant seem to find it. see: http://www.naturalvetcompany.com/home.php then go to the "for cats" link and you can see that there are larger side margins.. the other thing is the products under any subcategory, I would like them to appear in little boxes on the main page like I have seen in lots of peoples sites but I am not sure how I do that. thanks a million Vivienne |
Looks like you have a table set to a specific width somewhere. Without seeing the code, I can't say for sure where it is.
By little boxes, do you mean around the featured products? |
Yes, you know when the featured products show and also when you look at all products in a category - I'd love to be able to have them displayed each in a box. Just to clearly separate the products and to make it look nicer.
Thanks for looking at it, if I knew which template it was in I could just add a border to the cell I suppose, I had a quick look at categories and subcategories.tpl but cant work out which cell is the one that contains the insert of the products With the page shrinking - I must have changed something and its the same thing! Do you think I can work out which cell it is, I am used to back end stuff but these tables are jsut confusing me! My desk is covered with little drawings :). I will send you my login details or if you could tell me which files it could possibly be in that would be fantastic. Vivienne |
The template to add the border to is products_t.tpl.
As for the incredible shrinking table...I just viewed the source of your page...and you have some big issues :( There are <head> and <html> tags down in the body of your site. Not sure how they got there, but I'm thinking that those may be part of your problem. |
Thanks
I never woul dhave picked up that mistake! Caused by me not understanding what I am doing when embedding files and including head and html tags. I am sure that would have caused all sorts of funny behaviour. I have now corrected that I think but the table is still shirinking :). I thought it was a mistake in head.tpl but I suppose it couldnt be because that code is also in the normal home page as well as the subcategory view. As it changes when I go into a cateogry with subcategories but not one where there are just products then it must be something to do with subcategories.tpl? It is fine when I go to the link "Consult Our Vet" but not "by dogs"
Sorry to ask, I am determined to get to grips with php sooner rather than later and have bought the book :) Viv |
