Disable checkout and shopping cart ?
 

Hey guys,
A client of mine want a site with all of his products. But he doesnt want to sell the products yet. Maybe in half a year. Would it be possible to somehow disable the checkout and add to cart functions. So it would be an informational site with a catalog of products. And if he decides to do it i can just activate it or something.

Just comment out the add to cart and buy now buttons on their respective templates.

No, just the two products templates and the product template.

Everything worked out good.
But now my client wants to sell all the products. But he wants to have a seperate section for online store.
Basically i need somehow to have 2 identical stores. One just catalog of products and another one online store.

Any suggestions what would be the best way to do that.

I am thinking of duplicaton the Products page and products template. But now sure if that will work.

How about just having one store as a catalog for non-logged in people, and then they can buy once registered?

How would i do that?

And i dont think that this will work. I need to have 2 versions running at the same time. One just products no price no buy now. Another one with products, prices, check out.

No, you could hide the whole price/add to cart sections from non-registered users. Going to be a whole lot easier than having two sites running at once, as you will need to purchase an additional license and make changes to both stores each time you make an edit.

I cant do what you saying because i need to versions at the same time.

I was not planning to run 2 stores, just duplicating the products page if its possible.

I guess I have no idea what you are trying to achieve???? :?
