How to add Buttons/Image Links to Send to Friend & Revie
 

Send to Friend and Reviews are great functions that I want to keep.

BUT I feel they take up way too much space on product.tpl
I want less clutter and a cleaner look but retain functionality


I would prefer to see 2 buttons/images for "Send to Friend" and "Read & Add Reviews". For example an envelope image with "email a friend" on product.tpl either up the right top side near where the Save Image appears if activated. Else buttons similar and underneath Add to Cart saying "send to friend" and "read & add reviews". (The advantage of this is keeping all the buttons together >Easier for customers to navigate)

I hope I have explained this clearly enough. There are enough examples of this look and feel on ecommerce sited out there that I am sure you have all seen. The advantage is a cleaner look > less clutter>same functionality


I have searched the forums and 3rd party add-ons but can find no solution.
Can anyone refer me to a relevant post on the forum or offer a custom solution ?

Thanks - Yes I tried installing this forum mod over a month ago.

I have found that some of the forum free mods do not "play nicely" if you have Fancy Categories installed.

This is similar to the tabbing and image manager combination I would like

I am tossing up whether to ditch fancy cats (love the look, hate the time loading.. added code). I do keep my subcat levels down to 1 hoping to minimise issues but I think fancycats is a bit of a dog :) and will have to go - I have emailed RRF with feedback re this issue.

I may buy Boomers Tabbing MOd (but unsure if it will "play nicely" with fancy cats). ALso I prefer the genpi look of having the product overview details on the top tab rather than wasted space. I also prefer the detailed image manager on genpi rather than in the tabbed menu as many of my customers (I know) will miss the detailed images tab.

Still working this one out.

My intention with this post was to see if there was a way to get send to friend off the page down in product.tpl and compacted into a single clickable link. The funtionality is good but the rate of usage of send to friend indicates to me that it takes up too much space on product.tpl

Also would prefer detailed images to run horizontally rather than vertically. (there is a forum post on this I have seen).

Tabbed Mod will NOT affect Fancy cats, if it does in some way please let me know and I can fix ASAP. Although ive had no complaints of it yet, and its a very popular mod.
