Firefox behaviour
Downloaded firefox the other day and I find it quite interesting the way firefox loads the page, especially on a slower dialup/ISDN connection. I thought it was perhaps my X-Cart but I checked the demo and it does it also.
It seems to load/fill up the page with the leftmost column first e.g. categories, then adds the second column and then the third (if present). So on a slower connection my store (and the x-cart demo) is showing a full-screen width categories column for about 1-2 seconds before the rest begins to load, column by column....looks kind of, well, odd! I guess there's no way of preventing this? Dan |
Nope..it loads it in the order it shows up on the page...and since the left hand column is first....well, you get the idea :) Do you have Fancy Categories installed? If so, that will seriously drag down the load time of the page....

Thanks Balinor, no, no fancy categories. Well at least I know it's not me seeing as the X-cart demo does it on a slow enough connection!

Hey,
DanUK might be right. In my site , the Firefox loads pages from left to right column. I installed X-Cart fancy categories also. |
