Product options, split pages???

Hi

I would like to know if its possible to split a group of global product options across pages.

E.g. choose set of options1, click next then choose options2, then click goto checkout (sort of thing anyway :))

I am designing a shop for a optician who needs the customer to be able to enter full prescription details into the site to buy glasses, and ideally to make it more logical, it needs splitting up into managable sections.

Any advice appreciated
