Drop down for quantity limited to 5 only

Hi folks.. on check out process, the quantity is limited to 5 only.. is there a way to change it to many??

its because you only have five items in stock for that product. stop tracking inventory and that will not be checked

Shan, thanks for the quick reply.. strangely enough we put 1000 as the quantity in stock when adding the items..

what are the pros/cons of turning off tracking inventory
