how to edit text on a mail template
 

Hi, I know this is a general question but I've spent over an hour trying to figure this out, searching and digging and can't find the answer. I'm sure it will help answer questions from others like myself.

I just did a test order and saw the page displayed summarizing my order. I also just got the invoice email. I need to edit some things on these from the signature to the general text thanking them for their order, etc.

I know how to access the mail templates and have looked at them. I have general understanding of html tags but I cannot find the text anywhere in these files. Please help. Thank you very much for your valuable help.

All of the text on the e-mail templates is contained in language variables. Click on 'Languages' in your admin menu, select e-mail and you will see all of them. Edit as you would like.

That answered everything except for how to change the company name image. How do I place my image there? This is in the upper left hand corner of both the invoice email and page.

Easiest way is to just upload an image to the skin1/images directory with the same name that is already called in the template. I believe it is companyname_small.gif. The actual template that is in is called order_invoice.tpl.
