Extra Fields, Search Results, Tabular Format etc
There is some excellent advice and a mod for making extra fields appear in products.tpl at http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=13217
Unfortunately the last question in the thread is unanswered, relating to forcing extra fields to appear in search results. Any suggestions from anyone on how I can make this work? As a follow-on from this topic, I am trying to amend products.tpl to become a tabular listing along these lines: Product Name1 | Extra Field | Price | Buy Now Product Name2 | Extra Field | Price | Buy Now Product Name3 | Extra Field | Price | Buy Now My mods appeared to be working until I noticed that the changes were also affecting the Featured Products section, which I want to retain in it present multi-column non-tabular format. I must be doing something wrong and don't understand how products.tpl relates with other elements. Advice would be welcomed. BTW I invested in the Express List mod which I thought would provide me with a solution http://www.cartmods.com/catalog/Express_Product_List_p_5.html but have been disappointed in its structure and lack of integration. The mod needs some serious mod-ing !! Anyone else had any experience of this add-on? Thanks - I hope all this sort of links together and makes sense to be on one post! |
Okay - I think I have this figured out now. Extra fields are appearing on search results and I am working on a copy of products.tpl to convert it to tabular format.
