Able to purchase products even of out of stock ...
 

Hi ...

Is there a way within the smarty templates i can setup a facility in which if an item is out of stock, the customer is still able to order the item, but be notified on screen that delivery will be longer (eg: 6-8 weeks) as the item is on Order ?

Check the custom mods forum, there is a mod for that in there which I have used a couple times. Works well.

Just curious, in that thread there are several different people's interpretations on the mod. Whose version did you use?

I was going to use the one from Paintball but I dont have some of the files listed in his mod.

I used the last one I believe. If you are referring to customer/cart.php and customer/func.php, the customer directory no longer exists and both of those files are in the x-cart root directory.
