How do I remove Checkout Step 2?

Hello there, and please excuse me if this is in an inappropriate section, but my question doesn't really fall under Payment so I believe it might be a template question.

We have a cart that is almost ready at www.rambox.co.uk/xcart

During our checkout process there are 3 steps, however the second step "Select Payment Method" is complete;y redundant as we only have one payment option (credit card).

How do I remove Checkout Step 2?

I have looked through the payment options and through X-Cart's admin and can find no settings at all for this? Is it a template edit job?

Many thanks if anyone can help.

That should go away automatically if you only have one payment method. In General Settings, try checking the box that says 'Hide disfunctional payment methods from customers:' and see if that helps.

Also, please read the forum rules and put your X-Cart version number in your signature. Thanks! :)

Hi and thanks for the tip. I will look into it now. Strange about the sig, I have filled it all in in my profile and just checked that it is there. It is a brand new account so I wonder if it isn't updated yet. Thanks again for the reply.

Thanks again for the tip, but I have looked all through the settings (general, shipping, email etc.) and can't find an option for hiding dysfunctional payment options. I definately only have one payment option ticked (credit card) but it still goes to setp 2 (select payment method).

Any help greatly appreciated. Just in case my sig doesn't work again on this post I am using XCart Gold v.3.4.12 with Linux and PHP v. 4.2.2.

Thank you.

Ahhh...I'm not sure that setting was available in the 3.x branches.

FYI, to modify your signature, you need to enter your password before you hit save.

Thought of upgrading to the latest branch?

Thanks for the quick reply. And thanks for the password/sig tip.. It was my fault and it should be fine now. I will look at upgrading. We have a full catalogue, upgrading won't/shouldn't cause us any problems should it?

I usually get X-Cart to do the upgrades. They are quite reasonable, and will ensure that your modifications and add-on modules stay in tact. The new release of 4.0.14 just came out with a lot of nice fixes/improvements.
