Welcome back returning customer
Hi,
I use the Fashion Mosaic skin and I have a slight problem for returning customers on the site that I am still building. If a returning customer logs in from the front page and want to perhaps track an order - their minicart menu does not appear until you click on a link for another page. Once the site has moved from the front page, then the minicart appears. So a returning customer cannot see their account menu. To get around this, I want to create a static welcome back page which loads when the login is successful. This will then move you from the front page and display the minicart menu. I also want to welcome them back by name. Does anyone know how I can do this? |
Welcome.tpl already contains all the code for welcoming a returning user back by name, but it won't automatically log them in. They will still need to log in to see the mini-cart, although there is a mod in the Custom Mods forum for keeping them logged in.

I'm not looking for returning customers to be automatically logged. I need some method of opening a welcome page when someone has logged in because until the shop has moved from the home page, the minicart does not show - even when logged in.
There is a small line which says 'miss xxx logged in' once they have, but the minicart still doesn't show. I'm not explaining this very well am I? Please visit my site (under construction) create an account. Then come back out and log in as a returning customer and you will see what I mean. http://www.my-wedding-wishes.co.uk/xcart I haven't changed the 'enter store' page yet - it's once you are past this. Thanks |
That is definitely not the way it is supposed to work, as the mini-cart menu should load once a user is logged in (unless they don't have it configured that way in that skin). I would open a ticket with X-Cart.

Thanks,
How do I open a ticket? Sorry for being a bit dim at times |
