Problems in Webmaster Mode
 

Hello, when I try to edit text in webmaster mode and then save file, I get access denied message. I did not set up my x-cart, it was done for me, is this why I am being denied access. If so, what do I do. I am maintaing my own site now. :evil:

Sounds like it could be a permission error. Make sure the permissions are set according to this thread:

Hello, I have spent way to much time trying not to look stupid, BUT
I did not install my X-Cart, So I have no idea how to check to see what my permissions are set at. :evil:

Perhaps you should contact whoever set up X-Cart for you, as things like webmaster mode should work by default.

Are you familar with using FTP or SSH?

I contacted them, they said I owned the site and that my permissions were fine. I am familliar with FTP, I use it monthly to update my price files. I looked at the properties of some of my folders and found the permissions and they seem to be set correctly. When I looked at some of the files in the folders This is what I have

public_html/xcart 755 owner R W E group R E World R E
public_html/xcart/templates 777 owner, group, world R W E
public_html/xcart/templates/meta.tpl 644 owner R W Group/wrld R

When I go to webmaster mode and don't change anything in a file and just click save I get access denied.

Same on edit templates. All I am trying to do is to get rid of the meta tags that are default in my xcart and put some relevant words.

I have gone in the Languages and changed a lot of the text to fit my website, and I update my products, prices, images all the time. This is the only place that I am denied access.

Any suggestions as to specific files that I shouls be checking? :twisted:
