Help Section
Hi,
What I'm trying to do, if anyone can help is the following - In the help zone, I want to add a new part, called Returns Policy, which wants to be exactly the same layout as the Privacy Policy, with the dialog header image and border, with the policy in the middle. I presumed changing business.tpl and changing the labels called to new ones I have created, saving it as returns.tpl and uploaing to same directory (which I think is skin1/help) would work for me. All it does though when I click the link is go to the main help zone page. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Many thanks, |
There are a couple ways to do this, the easiest of which is to create an embedded static page. Click on the Static Pages section in the admin menu. The new page you create will automatically appear in the help menu. Give it a try.

Always wondered what that was for!!
Spot on, works a treat! Many thanks, Cheers, Adam |
Adding links to the Help menu
I'm trying to do the same thing and I gave your embedded static pages hint a try and got this error message: "Can not to save file: please check the write permissions."
Sorry, but "Huh???" Isn't there just a way to let help.php know that a new section exists? I duplicated and then edited an old help page, I just can't get the menu to link to it. Thanks! That error message is due to the folder where the static pages reside not having write permissions. You need to change that via ftp, cpanel or ssh.
MUCH easier to add static pages than add a new help template. Try changing permissions to writable in this folder: skin1/pages/US/ |
Error message on static page creation
Ok. I figured out the error message. Just for note, I'm not on a UNIX box so it wasn't a rights issue. The directories pages/US didn't exist. When I created them, it suddenly worked, though the auto formatting on the nav isn't right. I'll have to figure that out, but no worrries.
Thanks! Angela |
Ahh...be sure and specify that in your signature (as well as your version) so that we are aware you aren't on Unix for future posts.
