Menu text formatting
 

In changing the menu.tpl my goal was to make it look lke torn paper with blue writing on it. I thought the torn-edges would be the problem, but as it turns out it was changing the text colors.

Looking at menu.tpl it seems like VertMenuBoxNewsTitle would control it, but I can't find where to alter that. It definately doesn't show up in skin1.css, and even if I add it, it doesn't change anything. I have the feeling I'm making this more difficult than it is.

My question in brief is how do I change the various text colors that show up in the various menu boxes?

Ahhh...you found one of the bugs....that style doesn't exist by default. The main style that controls the menu items is VertMenuItems. You can either change the style of the categories menu to that, or you can create the VertMenuBoxNewsTitle style yourself.

How can I add another menu box on left say for custom images or links, extra content etc.

Would be good to add for secure site image & small graphics?
