Can't save product with Java in description!

I'm totally lost, frustrated and almost bald! But still having fun. :wink:

K, here's the Challenge of the Day.
When trying to "add a new product" that has any java code in the detailed
description, cart says "Saved" and it does, but...it wipes out the "detailed description" part.
In other words, it saves everything But the Detailed description.

Here's an example of the Java.
Code:

<td width="42%" valign="top">
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
  window.open(theURL,winName,features);
}
//-->
</script>

    Specifications</td>

I don't know squat about java! I generated the code with Dreamweaver and it works great
in a regular html page.

Sooo... would ya Please be so kind as to tell me what I'm overlooking/screwing up?

Ummm...I highly doubt you will be able to put javascript in the detailed description field. What exactly are you trying to do?

Thanks for the quick response!

I'm trying to create a link that pops up a chromeless window.
ie. certain size, no scroll, no status, no resize etc.

This is Not needed for every link, image etc., only for a couple swf files.

hummm....
Is there a way to make the target page (rino.html) resize & not show
the scroll, status, etc. using java IN the target page its self?

Thanks!

Take a look at what Boomer did with the detailed image popup.

Perhaps you can reverse engineer it for your needs :)

Boomer has a cool mod! I'll be playing with that shortly. :D

But it's way to much for the task at hand. Guess I'm thinking of something
to simple. LOL!!

I had the same problem. The default settings in X-cart do not allow you to use JS in the Product Descriptions. Refer to this thread for the solution:

http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=16161&highlight=.

You will then be able to use Javascript in the Product Descriptions.

Now 1day2004, not all of those are yours. Ya gots to share a couple of them! LOL!!

Now, I'm off to see how to do the same thing for pages.php.

Would be nice if cart had the option of "If only 1 Master allow whatever
they want to input wherever they want to input it."

Be nice for us Sole Provider folks.
