Simplify Checkout process
 

I would like to simplify the checkout process by changing x-cart.

I removed the login (authbox) from the template. Instead I added a My Account link in the header. How do I get the My account link to a page that asks: Returning Customers Enter e-mail and password and If you are not already a member click here to register? I would also like this to be Step One in the checkout process (similar to amazon.com).

Any ideas how to make this happen?

I would stop where you are and go with the Easy Checkout Mod.

Go here and see the options. Trust me, I am doing upgrade right now and if something is already fixed, why try to redevelope the wheel?

Easy Checkout for X-Cart
 

I've looked over Easy Checkout for X-Cart but did not care for the tabbed layout and the login screen isn't exactly what I had in mind. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Any other ideas?

Doesn't Amazon have a tabbed checkout? ;)

Best of luck hacking up the checkout. It is an area that NEEDS massive improvement.
